چکیده

Hyper-Resolution, a new technique for super-resolution reconstruction of images, is based on matching lowresolution target image details to their high-resolution counterparts from an image database. Central to the algorithm is a novel transform of image content from the orthogonal pixel space to a parametric space structured around edges. This approach offers improved quality, more flexibility and significantly faster performance than previous work in the field. Implementation strategies for achieving this efficiency are carefully outlined. The algorithm is evaluated by controlled assessment, qualitative evaluation, and applications to facial detail reconstruction and identification. The algorithm is finally analyzed through the comparison with alternative techniques. r 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Collimator-detector response compensation in molecular SPECT reconstruction using STIR framework

Introduction:It is well-recognized that collimator-detector response (CDR) is the main image blurring factor in SPECT.  In this research, we compensated the images for CDR in molecular SPECT by using STIR reconstruction framework. Methods: To assess resolution recovery capability of the STIR, a phantom containing five point sources along with a micro Derenzo p...

Building Reconstruction Using DSM and Orthorectified Images

High resolution Digital Surface Models (DSMs) produced from airborne laser-scanning or stereo satellite images provide a very useful source of information for automated 3D building reconstruction. In this paper an investigation is reported about extraction of 3D building models from high resolution DSMs and orthorectified images produced from Worldview-2 stereo satellite imagery. The focus is o...

Morphologic gain-controlled regularization for edge-preserving super-resolution image reconstruction

Total Variation or Bilateral Total variation based regularization of ill-posed Super Resolution (SR) problem is well-established. However, the SR image reconstructed by this method produces ringing artifacts near strong edges. Second, the extension of SR Imaging to SR video always desire faster SR reconstruction process. In this paper we develop a gain-controlled based locally adaptive regulari...

Efficient Upsampling of Natural Images

We propose a novel method of efficient upsampling of a single natural image. Current methods for image upsampling tend to produce high-resolution images with either blurry salient edges, or loss of fine textural detail, or spurious noise artifacts. In our method, we mitigate these effects by modeling the input image as a sum of edge and detail layers, operating upon these layers separately, and...

Super resolution reconstruction of multispectral images ∗

Multispectral image reconstruction allows to combine a multispectral low resolution image with a panchromatic high resolution one to obtain a new multispectral image with the spectral properties of the lower resolution image and the level of detail of the higher resolution one. In this paper we formulate the problem of multispectral image reconstruction based on super-resolution techniques and ...
